lyrics
I put her on a train up north
I put distance between us
She had the things she needed to lay down
Train climbed higher by the hour
Are you the arrow
Are you the bow
You know, you know you can be both
One takes the aim
and the other lets go
I saw her in her bathing suit
Lines like brush strokes on her body
The beach, magnifying hourglass
Stealing minutes so brutally
Are you the arrow
Are you the bow
You know, you know you should be both
One takes the aim
The other lets go
I hear her now
Walking up the stairs of diamond ash
To a kingdom bed she lined with prey
Every trophy guarded by the gods
Every hurt forgiven, smudge erased
Got a crazy fast Mercedes
Yeah it drives me like a killer
Archer steers her arrow on the wheel
Don’t you worry, my baby
This is the sorrow
This is the joy
Blow your brains out with both
I’ll take the aim
You let me know
You let me know
I hear her now
Walking up the stairs of diamond ash
To a kingdom bed she lined with prey
Every trophy guarded by the gods
Every hurt forgiven, smudge erased
You pierce the skyline
You warrior
All arrival
No return
Ascension vision
to the heart
Straight to the heart
You know you’re a star
Your father’s prayer
Your mother’s child
Birth extension
Up through your spine
You’re a one shot sniper
You’re a one shot sniper
Surrendering life
I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250
An absolutely powerful album that I can't help but keep coming back to. The music, the voice, the calm, the rage, the snake eats its tail and we return again. local warlock
The latest Djunah LP channels the duo's heavy, intensely cathartic sound to reflect on living with and healing from trauma. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 14, 2023
